Monitoring on top of Orange Scene
Hans Buch has supplied a MaxiMet GMX600 from Gill to Roskilde Festival. The unit is installed on top of Orange Scene next to one of the stage’s lightning conductors and provides local weather data to the festival’s emergency response team.
When large numbers of people gather outdoors, the weather can quickly affect both operations and safety. It is therefore important that the relevant people have access to data that is easy to understand and act on.
Local data for the emergency response team
Data from the MaxiMet GMX600 is primarily used by Roskilde Festival’s emergency response team. The aim is to provide a better basis for decision-making if there is a risk of severe weather.
By placing the unit directly on Orange Scene, the festival obtains measurements from a relevant point on the site. This provides better insight into local conditions than general weather forecasts alone.
Software that is easy to understand
Software has been developed for the solution to present the data in a simple, clear format.
This means the information is not only relevant to technical specialists. It can also be shared with people without a technical background who need a quick overview in a specific situation.
Flexible rental solution for temporary events
The agreement with Roskilde Festival is distinctive because Hans Buch has offered the MaxiMet GMX600 as a rental solution.
This makes weather monitoring more financially viable for festivals, concerts, sporting events and other temporary events where it is only needed for a limited period.
A solution tailored to the installation
Practical experience from previous installations has also been taken into account. Last year’s weather monitoring equipment was difficult to dismantle because the cables became tangled in the scaffolding.
This year’s installation has been improved to make both set-up and dismantling more practical.
At Hans Buch, it is not just about supplying a product. It is about making the technical solution work in the real-world environment where it will be used.
