Fredericia project

4 kilometres of rails delivered with precise timing

Delivering railway rails sounds simple – but in practice, it places significant demands on planning, logistics and timing. In Fredericia, Hans Buch ensured a single delivery of over 4 kilometres of rails, tailored to the customer’s schedule and the project’s needs.

When logistics become crucial to project progress

In railway projects, the material itself is rarely the biggest challenge. It is when and how it is delivered.

In this project, the customer needed:

  • a competitive price
  • a single delivery
  • precise timing in relation to the other work

The rails were to be used in work around the Great Belt, where delays can quickly affect the progress of the entire project.

An end-to-end solution from production to delivery

Hans Buch managed a coordinated delivery of 34 rails, each 120 metres long – a total of 4,080 metres.

The consignment was:

  • produced and prepared in Germany
  • transported on eight rail wagons
  • delivered to Fredericia in a single shipment

The key was not just to deliver the rails, but to ensure that all the logistics worked seamlessly – so the customer could continue working without interruption.

The result: Delivery as planned – and without a hitch

The project was completed as agreed:

  • on-time delivery
  • a complete, coordinated solution
  • tailored to the customer’s needs and schedule

Although the product itself is standard, this case study shows that the value lies in execution.

Railway projects are not just about delivering materials – they are about supporting the customer’s work and ensuring that the project can continue without delays.
