MAC pulse valves for precise and reliable pneumatics

MAC pulse valves are developed for demanding pneumatic applications where fast response, stable performance and a long service life are essential. At Hans Buch, you have access to a broad MAC range and technical advice to ensure the valve suits your application, flow requirements and operating environment.

When the pulse needs to be precise every time

In pneumatic systems, small variations in valve response can affect operation, air consumption and maintenance. This is particularly true in applications with repeated cycles, dust filters, filtration systems and other demanding environments where the valve must deliver consistent force over a long period.

MAC pulse valves are designed to deliver high actuating force and speed with low friction and strong resistance to contamination. This ensures stable operation under varying pressure conditions and reduces the risk of unnecessary downtime, wear and maintenance.

Reliable valve technology with a long service life

MAC’s pulse valves feature a diaphragm-free design, a 4-way balanced bonded spool and a self-cleaning rubber-coated spool. This combination creates a valve that can deliver a powerful, short pulse while being less sensitive to dirt and contamination.

The valves can be used with several control methods, including electromagnetic solenoid, pneumatic and manual control. They are also developed for various media, such as air, inert gases, contaminated air down to 40 µ and liquids.

The MAC range includes 2/2, 3/2, 4/2, 5/2 and 5/3 variants, as well as pulse valves, standard valves, cartridge valves and liquid dosing valves.

How to choose the right MAC pulse valve

The choice of pulse valve depends primarily on flow requirements, pressure, control method, available space and cycle time requirements. MAC pulse valves cover a flow range from 20 to 6000 Nl/min and a pressure range from -1 to 16 bar, allowing them to be adapted to a wide variety of pneumatic installations.

The valves can be integrated into existing systems via an angled base or adaptor plate, making them a practical drop-in solution in many cases. Several models are designed for up to 10 million cycles, making them well suited to applications where long operating life and low maintenance requirements are important.

  • PV03: Small model for applications requiring precision and a low flow rate.
  • PV06: Medium-sized model with higher flow capacity than PV03.
  • PV07: Versatile valve with greater flow capacity than PV06; often used where high reliability and speed are required.
  • PV09: Developed for higher flow rates and applications requiring greater air volume.
  • PV10: Almost identical to PV09, but with even higher flow capacity.
  • PV12: The largest model, offering maximum flow capacity for heavier industrial applications.

Lower energy consumption, less downtime and cleaner filters

A powerful, precise pulse can extend the time between pulses, reducing air and energy consumption. At the same time, the strong pulse helps keep filters clean, which can improve capacity and extend filter life.

MAC pulse valves are also developed with a focus on operational reliability. The durable spools reduce the need for repairs, and the manual override on the MAC solenoid pilot makes it easier to test the pulse valve during inspection and maintenance.

For systems where a weak pulse can lead to dust build-up and reduced efficiency, MAC provides a stable solution with high pulse force in every cycle. This makes the valves suitable for environments where downtime can be both time-consuming and costly.
