Under a framework agreement for 22 ceilometers from Eliasson, Hans Buch has delivered a solution that modernises the customer’s monitoring of weather conditions across Denmark and Greenland. The delivery supports a strategic upgrade of automated weather systems and ensures more accurate measurements, real-time data and high operational reliability.
A complete solution combining technology, customisation and support
In railway projects, the material itself is rarely the biggest challenge. It is when and Hans Buch delivered a complete solution based on CBME80 ceilometers from Eliasson as part of a 4-year framework agreement.
The delivery included:
- 22 ceilometers
- spare parts (including transmitters, receivers and power supplies)
- support and training for the customer’s staff
The solution was also tailored to the customer’s needs with features including:
- Ethernet-based data communication
- contamination detection
- a blower system for stable measurements
- data monitoring software
This made it possible to integrate the solution into the customer’s existing setup while significantly enhancing its functionality.

With the new solution, the customer now has:
- accurate cloud height measurements and improved visibility data
- real-time monitoring of atmospheric conditions
