Operational stability and longer lifespan with MAC pulse valves are the expectations at NLMK DanSteel, after another delivery and installation from Hans Buch has been put into operation. At NLMK DanSteel, they particularly note Hans Buch’s quick response time and rapid follow-up on changing needs.

Hans Buch has delivered and installed 56 pulse valves from MAC Valves to NLMK DanSteel, with whom Hans Buch has collaborated on several occasions.

The collaboration between Hans Buch and NLMK DanSteel is one of many examples that we not only deliver what is agreed on time, but that we create value for the customer with a quick response setup, as well as fast follow-up and handling of changes and additions.

MAC pulse valves adjusted to NLMK DanSteel’s unique needs

The 56 MAC pulse valves (also known as pulse valves) are mounted in eight individual sections consisting of a series of seven pulse valves each. Each of the 56 pulse valves shoots into six bag filters, which NLMK DanSteel needs for effective cleaning.

The setup allows for a wide range of individual and serial settings, where a given sequence is programmed. Additionally, the pulse valves are adjusted in pulse time and frequency to the unique task in NLMK DanSteel’s application.

Compared to conventional diaphragm valves (also known as “diaphragm valves”), MAC’s pulse valves provide NLMK DanSteel with a number of advantages.

Hans Buch’s product manager: “The right level between precise performance and energy consumption”

The advantages include energy savings, longer lifespan, as well as less maintenance and fewer operational stops. This is made possible due to the unmatched precision of the pulse valves, which ensures efficient performance with minimal air consumption.

After installation, we at Hans Buch, in collaboration with NLMK DanSteel, need to adjust the performance of the pulse valves, where the right level for the customer’s needs is identified. This is explained by Per Lykkebæk Larsen, product manager for Pneumatics at Hans Buch Industry.

– Pressure, pulse time, and sequence for the valves need to be adjusted to achieve the perfect balance between differential pressure over the bag filters and the right air consumption. Together with preventing leaks, this provides the best conditions for optimal energy consumption, which overall saves the customer money, he says.

NLMK DanSteel: Operational stability and longer lifespan on bag filters

With both delivery, installation, and the right adjustments, the 56 pulse valves are ready for operation. It is still too early to conclude the real benefits of this delivery, but at NLMK DanSteel, they note the advantages from a previous similar delivery of MAC pulse valves from Hans Buch.

Janus Hansen, supply master at NLMK DanSteel, explains that the pulse valves from MAC have had a beneficial effect on both the uptime of the respective plant and the lifespan of the bag filters.

– The first project with MAC pulse valves has now been in operation for almost two years, without any problems with the installed valves. The biggest gain has been the operational stability, as well as the longer lifespan of the filters in the plant where they are installed, he says.

Experienced collaboration with another successful process

At Hans Buch, we are proud of another successful delivery of MAC pulse valves. Our collaboration with NLMK DanSteel reflects our ambition to provide good service for our customers, who get a better experience than just delivery of components at the door.

Beforehand, we explore the customer’s detailed needs and demands, and we also offer to calculate the return on investment (ROI) of the investment with the customer’s data and upon request. Along the way, we keep the customer informed and adapt to the changing needs that may arise, and after the task is completed, we follow up on whether the agreed delivery and solution meet the customer’s expectations.

– We at Hans Buch believe that it has been a successful process with the delivery at NLMK DanSteel, where we have also gained valuable experience for future supervision of installation tasks internally between our sales engineers and product managers and externally with our service partners, says Per Lykkebæk Larsen.
