Reconstruction of railway in the port area – Fredericia
ADP A/S and Rambøll teamed up with Hans Buch and our supplier Edilon, and delivered a well-executed railway project in Fredericia, which can be used for similar projects in Denmark in the future.
Successful railway project with successful collaboration
After a fire in the harbor area in Fredericia, the existing tracks at the harbor were so damaged that a reconstruction was necessary.
The solution – a new and better track solution
ADP A/S Fredericia and Rambøll together developed a track project for the reconstruction of the harbor area. Here, Hans Buch, together with our track supplier Edilon, was involved in a new track solution for the harbor. Hans Buch and Edilon were awarded orders for five crossings as well as the delivery of rails (1440 meters), sleepers, and fastenings.
The first four crossings are delivered with a standard LCS-350, while the last and longest crossing at 168 meters is of the type LCS 350CT – Heavy Duty version.
With a large permissible axle load of 110 tons and a system that can withstand a harsh environment, this crossing will also be a perfect product choice for other ports. The very limited maintenance and the great vibration-damping effect also make the crossing suitable for light rail projects like Ring 3 in Copenhagen.
The result – successful and fruitful collaboration
In June 2019, four out of five crossings were completed, and in September 2019, the last crossing of 168 meters was ready.
Based on a successful project and a fruitful collaboration, things are now back on track for Fredericia Harbor.
“A well-executed project where the collaboration between all involved parties has worked impeccably.”
Hans Henrik Nielsen, Sales Director, Hans Buch Railway
