At Hans Buch, we strive to be an attractive sparring partner and supplier of sustainable solutions to our customers in the Danish industry and within Danish transportation, including marine and railway sectors.

We view sustainable goals as a shared concern for the entire industry. Therefore, we continuously work to demonstrate concrete actions that support more sustainable operations both internally for ourselves and externally in our advising of components and customized solutions to our clients.

Through our digital channels, we will consistently highlight efforts and share knowledge and cases that can inspire making sustainable choices when our customers demand new solutions and components.

Collaborate with Hans Buch on Sustainable Solutions

Hans Buch supplies a wide range of industries and sectors in the industry and transportation fields. A common feature among many of our customers is their significant consumption of energy resources, and our products often play a central role in their operations.

Therefore, we aim to assist our customers in reducing their resource usage with more efficient solutions, which can contribute to a lower CO2 footprint. Often, we can also demonstrate a positive business case with a short payback period for sustainable investments in our products and solutions, freeing up funds for further initiatives towards a more sustainable future.

Therefore, at Hans Buch, we have set the following goals:

By 2024, we aim to reduce our CO2 footprint with a minimum of 30% for 20 selected customers.

We aim to reduce our customers’ costs or footprint by 30% in areas where our products play a central role in their production.

We aim to advise our customers on the CO2 footprint of the individual products and solutions we provide.

We aim to measure and document the CO2 footprint of our products, making it transparent for our customers. Additionally, we will develop a template describing the process to inspire other suppliers and companies.

ISO 14001 certification in environmental management

Hans Buch holds ISO 14001 certification in environmental management. It is a qualification parameter that helps us have a structured approach to the green transition. An approach that is also reflected in the solutions and advice we offer you as a customer.

We have developed a sustainable business strategy to ensure that the green line flows through our entire business – from our individual products to customer advice. In this context, we have selected the areas with the greatest potential in terms of sustainability.

Selection of Sustainable Development Goals

To focus our green transition, we have selected two of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals to work from: Goal 7, which aims to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all, and Goal 13, which requires us to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

To ensure that our sustainable business plan is disseminated and implemented, we have allied with Dansk Erhverv and the trade association BITVA. In this regard, we underwent a training program facilitated by HE Agenda, Denmark’s leading experts in sustainable business strategies.
