At Hans Buch, we strive to be an attractive sparring partner and supplier of sustainable solutions for our customers in the Danish industry and in Danish transport within marine and railways.

We see sustainable goals as a shared responsibility for the entire industry. Therefore, we continuously work to clarify concrete actions that support more sustainable operations both internally for ourselves and externally in our advice on our components and customized solutions.

On our digital channels, we will continuously highlight efforts and share knowledge and cases that can inspire making sustainable choices when our customers demand new solutions and components.

Collaborate with Hans Buch on sustainable solutions

Hans Buch is a supplier to a wide range of industries and sectors in the industry and within transport. A common feature for many of our customers is that they have a high consumption of energy resources, and our products are often a central element in business operations.

Therefore, we have a goal to help our customers reduce their resource usage with more efficient solutions that can contribute to a lower CO2 footprint. Often, we can also document a positive business case with a short payback period on sustainable investments in our products and solutions, which can free up funds for further initiatives for a more sustainable future.

At Hans Buch, we have therefore set the following goals:

By 2024, we will reduce our CO2 footprint at 20 selected customers by at least 30%.

We want to reduce our customers’ costs or footprint by 30% in the areas where our products play a central role in the customers’ production.

We will be able to advise our customers on the CO2 footprint of the individual products and solutions we deliver.

We will be able to measure and document the CO2 footprint of our products, so it is transparent for our customers. Additionally, we will develop a template that can describe the process for inspiration for other suppliers and companies.

ISO 14001 certification
in environmental management

Hans Buch holds the ISO 14001 certification in environmental management. It is a qualification parameter that helps us have a structured approach to the green transition. An approach that is also reflected in the solutions and advice we offer you as a customer.

We have developed a sustainable business strategy to ensure that the green line flows through our entire business – from our individual products to customer advice. In this context, we have selected the areas with the greatest potential in terms of sustainability.

To focus our green transition, we have selected two of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals to work from: Goal 7, which aims to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all, and Goal 13, which requires us to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

To ensure that our sustainable business plan is implemented and lives, we have allied with Danish Business and the industry association BITVA. In this context, we underwent a training program facilitated by HE Agenda, which is Denmark’s leading experts in sustainable business strategies.
